"Picture Perfect: A Guide to Choosing the Best Frame for Your Art Prints in Australia

Let’s talk frames! So you have finally found the perfect print, but now you're stumped on how to show it off? Well, hang tight because we've got the scoop on where to find the perfect frames in Australia.

First off, let's talk options. You've got timber, metal, and acrylic frames to choose from. Timber frames are a classic choice and come in a wide variety of finishes and styles. They're perfect for traditional or rustic spaces. Metal frames are modern and sleek, and are a great choice for contemporary or minimalist spaces. Acrylic frames, also known as floating frames, give the illusion that the art is floating within the frame. They are perfect for those who wants to give a modern and minimalist feel to the space.

Next, consider the colors in the room where you'll be hanging the art print. You want to choose a frame that will complement the colors in the room, not clash with them. For example, if the walls are a pale blue, you might want to choose a white frame for your art print.

When it comes to where to snag the perfect frame, there are a few place to choose from. Spotlight is usually our go-to, they have a variety of frames and the quality is good for the price. Plus, they often have sales, so its easy to snag yourself a bargain. [See below pic for our favourite A3

Some other options for frames are Big W, Officeworks, Target, IKEA, Freedom, just to name a few. Generally we don’t recommend cheap frames from the likes of Kmart, as quality can be a bit ‘hit and miss”. We have heard tales of them falling of the wall, falling apart, and even staining the paintwork on your wall. Yikes! - buy at your own risk.

If you're looking for a more specialised approach, your local framing shops have a ton of options and experts on hand to help you out. However, be warned they are usually on the more expensive end of the scale.

Online shopping is also an option, there are several Australian companies that sell frames online, and you can often find frames for lower prices than you would in a store. Don’t forget to double check measurements before clicking that purchase button.

For the vintage lovers out there, consider using reclaimed or vintage frames. These babies have history and will add some character to your space. Keep an eye out for them at antique stores, thrift stores, or online marketplaces like Gumtree, Facebook marketplace or eBay.

In short, choosing the right frame for your art prints is all about finding the perfect balance of style, color, and size. And remember, framing your art prints is a fun and creative process. So let your imagination run wild and have fun with it!
